“I want to do some testing.  See what my ‘bent’ is.  See how I can best serve God.”

“Hmmm… that’s nice.  But, have you considered Moses?  He was called by God to go speak to Pharaoh.  He evidently stuttered or had some speech impediment.  But that’s what God called him to do.  Sure, his brother ended up doing the speaking for him, but that was a concession on God’s part due to Moses’ insecurities.  God would have provided for him since He asked him to do it.  Just because we are comfortable doing a particular thing, doesn’t mean that is how God plans to use us.  Sometimes He asks us to do things we’re not comfortable with.  Sometimes He uses our weaknesses for His glory.  Just think about that.”

URRRRCHHHHH!!!!  WHAT??!!???

2nd Corinthians 12: 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

1st Corinthians 1: 26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

That’s what I love about my godly friends.  They give me a fresh perspective on God’s word.  They challenge me to reconsider my plans and thoughts and compare them to God’s will and word.  My life isn’t about me or what I do best.  My life is about God and His will.  “Help me find Your “track”, God.  And keep me moving forward on it.  Thanks for the light posts You give me along the way.”
