If Covid had a Color

As I was walking through the park, watching my dog chase the world of smells that I have no access to, I began to wonder what it would be like if my eyes were so powerful as to see Covid 19. Where would it be? What would it look like? How would my decisions change? Would I be dodging back and forth on my walk like my dog tracking a scent? Would I see Covid everywhere? or just every so often? And if Covid had a color, what color would it be?

Would it be coloring the world blue like the “afraid” emoji, leaving panic in its wake? Fear of shortages. Fear of illness. Fear of financial ruin. Fear of loss of rights and freedoms? Or perhaps it would be red for the anger regarding injustices toward others. The lack of production and distribution of necessary medical equipment. The disrespect for the disease by some that puts others at risk. The scammers who take advantage of insecurities. Perhaps it would be green as a sign of the money lost or the money sought after. Or maybe it would be blue-gray. The color of lips starving for more oxygen. But maybe it would have the warm glow of sunrise, signaling an opportunity for a new beginning. A new way of relating. A new appreciation of life.
